Hemlock and Lake in the Woods should be good for fishing trout with this prolonged hot weather as they are often cooler than the valley lakes. Both Lakes also received trophy-size trout last week as well.

Anglers fishing the high lakes in the Umpqua District are encouraged to e-mail fishing reports. Contact the Forest Service at 541-496-3532 for road conditions and potential road closures. Hemlock and Lake in the Woods received several stockings of trout in 2017. There also are opportunities to catch holdover rainbow trout that were stocked in previous years. Remember only trout over 8-inches may be harvested, and only one trout over 20-inches may be kept per day. Trout will be stocked this week for Labor Day weekend opportunities.
