Anglers are continuing to catch largemouth bass, crappie and bluegills from the fishing dock and along the weedlines in Eel Lake. Fishing is typically the best in the mornings before the wind starts blowing in the afternoons.

Approximately 13 miles north of North Bend off Hwy 101.

Trout fishing is open through Oct. 31. The daily limit is two trout with an 8-inch minimum length.

Chinook salmon and steelhead season is open from the river mouth to Bald Mountain Creek through Dec. 31. However Chinook salmon fishing doesn’t typically pick up for at least a few more weeks. Please see the southwest zone regulation exceptions in the ODFW Sport Fishing Regulations book for more details. Please note: there is a wild Chinook aggregate bag limit rule for Floras/New, Sixes, and Elk Rivers.

To check river current conditions, call 541-332-0405.
