Good crappie bite at Santa Margarita

Water temperature is 78 degrees. Lake is 14%. Evening bite is a bit better than morning. Crappie can be caught in the shallow end of the lake and near the dam. A 3.8 pound, 17-inch crappie was landed by Lilly Thomas of Santa Margarita. Catfish come from Vaca Flat. Some are in the 8 to 9 pound range. (805) 438-1522
