The water temp has been around 53 degrees. Trout are being caught from the shoreline near the Main Recreation Area and the Pines. Boaters have been having the best luck at the Rock Wall, Farrells Landing, and Scow Canyon. Power Bait for the Trout in chartreuse, rainbow and garlic have been working as well as the Mice Tails and inflated nightcrawlers. The water is still muddy from the rains so using strong scented baits is best. The broken-back fire tiger Rapala, Mepps spinners and Kastmasters are being used to catch trout on the troll. A plant of 1,500 pounds of trout from Mount Lassen went in Tuesday. That brings the total trout planted this season to 12,750 pounds. (510) 223-1661
