The Trask has a hatchery coho salmon run, and those fish are throughout the fishery. Fishing has been fair to good the past week and there are still some bright hatchery coho coming in. The Trask is low and clear, but warmer temperatures and a little rain predicted the end of the week should have it in good shape for the weekend.
Winter steelhead should start showing up in late December. The Trask does not have a hatchery steelhead release, but provides some good catch-and-release opportunity for wild steelhead with the occasional stray hatchery fish being caught.
Fall Chinook season on the Trask ended Nov. 30 (see regulation updates for details).
