East Walker River Fish Report

The East is back down to 22 cfs right now and has been there for a few days. The fishing is still pretty good but of course the fish have been pushed back into the deeper pools so there's where you're going to want to focus your attention. You're still going to want to be in stealth mode as the fish tend to be pretty spooky with the lower water. Temps are good and the weather has been great which always makes for an enjoyable day on the water. Nymphing has been the best method for success though we have had a couple decent reports on streamers and there's been some decent dry action though not very consistant. Patterns to try include: silver streak, copper john, flashback emerger, top secret midge, rainbow warrior, brassie, san juan worm, dark lord, zuddler, wooly bugger, jj special and mini leeches. We've had a couple good reports on the West this week, it sounds like the fish are being a bit picky but anglers are bagging a few here and there. Sounds like by far the best patterns to try are small black or olive wooly buggers. www.kenssport.com (760) 932-7707
